T Brand Studio Selected Works
I cut my teeth at The New York Times’ T Brand Studio — where I creative directed, researched and/or wrote everything from full-blown integrated campaigns to podcasts to longform articles. The stories here remain some of my favorite in my portfolio.
CBS All Access
To promote the show “The Good Fight” about Black lawyers in Chicago, we — for the first time in history — uncovered and told the story of LLoyd Garrison Wheeler, the first Black lawyer in Illinois.
Snapchat
As Snapchat released its voter registration function, we profiled five Gen Z activists — and shared the role technology plays in their efforts.
MassMutual
In a fully integrated campaign, MassMutual and T Brand Studio envisioned a more-equal America. We profiled a Black farmer and her dreams for her business, released an anthemic YouTube spot, hosted the first-ever poetry competition in the pages of the NYTimes — and founded Black History Continued, a new section in the paper dedicated to sharing stories of Black culture.
CBS All Access
To promote their show “Why Women Kill,” we leaned into the growing trend of true crime podcasts — and created a show all about the nation’s most notorious female killers.
National Confectioner’s Association
During the height of Covid, we released a fun how-to guide for parents looking to maximize fun — and safety — on Halloween. We accompanied the article with a stop-motion animated video.
